17 days. 854 miles. A lifetime of memories.
Completing the Mount to Coast LEJOG is an extraordinary achievement, and we believe the rewards should reflect the scale of the challenge.
After 17 consecutive days of running, crossing England and Scotland and overcoming everything the journey throws at you, reaching John O'Groats deserves something truly special.
Every successful LEJOG finisher will receive a bespoke Mount to Coast LEJOG medal, created specifically to celebrate completing the length of Great Britain.
Not simply another medal for the collection, but a permanent reminder of 854 miles of determination, resilience and extraordinary effort.

A trophy that represents much more than 17 days of running — it represents the months of preparation, the sacrifices and the determination required to reach John O'Groats.
Crossing the border into Scotland is a major milestone on the LEJOG journey.
Competitors who successfully reach Scotland will earn the special LEGG medal, recognising their achievement in completing the Land's End to Gretna Green section.
A significant accomplishment in its own right, and another memorable moment on the road north.
For those extraordinary athletes who have already completed our Mount to Coast JOGLE challenge, successfully completing LEJOG earns an additional distinction.
THE DOUBLE!
Having run the length of Great Britain in both directions, these competitors join an exceptionally small group of endurance athletes.
A remarkable achievement deserving special recognition.
You cannot buy these awards.
You cannot take a shortcut.
You have to earn them — one mile at a time.

One extraordinary journey. Two countries. Seventeen consecutive days of endurance.
The Mount to Coast LEJOG 2030 follows our established route from the rugged southwestern tip of Cornwall to the spectacular northern coastline of Scotland.
Starting at Land's End on 3rd October 2030, competitors will travel north through England and into Scotland, aiming to reach the iconic John O'Groats signpost on 19th October 2030.
Covering approximately 854 miles, with an average daily distance of more than 50 miles, this is a challenge where every day brings new landscapes, new obstacles and another opportunity to discover just how far your determination can take you.
The adventure begins amid the dramatic coastline and rolling countryside of Cornwall.
From there, competitors make their way through Devon, Somerset and the Bristol area before continuing north through the heart of England.
With each passing day, the scenery changes, the miles accumulate and the challenge becomes increasingly demanding.
Eventually, the journey reaches the Scottish border — a milestone that every LEJOG competitor dreams of achieving.
Crossing into Scotland marks a significant moment in the challenge.
England is behind you, but the journey is far from over.
The route continues north through Scotland, where expansive landscapes, changing weather conditions and the accumulated fatigue of successive ultra-distance days will test even the most experienced endurance athletes.
And finally, after 17 extraordinary days, the ultimate destination awaits.
John O'Groats.
A place that represents far more than the end of a road.
For those who complete LEJOG, it represents 854 miles of courage, perseverance and achievement.
Start: Land's End, Cornwall
Finish: John O'Groats, Scotland
Dates: 3rd–19th October 2030
Duration: 17 consecutive days
Total Distance: Approximately 854 miles
Average Daily Distance: Approximately 50 miles
Route: Same established route as LEJOG 2026
Detailed daily stage information, GPX files and navigation guidance will be provided to competitors.
There will be difficult days. There will be unforgettable moments. And there will be times when reaching the next checkpoint feels like an achievement in itself.
But with every mile completed, John O'Groats gets a little closer.
17 days. 854 miles. One extraordinary journey from end to end.
854 miles. 17 days. Know your route. Follow your progress.
The Mount to Coast LEJOG is an extraordinary endurance challenge, taking competitors through a wide variety of landscapes, from quiet country lanes and rural footpaths to towns, cities and remote stretches of countryside.
With approximately 50 miles to cover each day, good navigation and careful preparation are essential.
The LEJOG route is not fully waymarked, and competitors are responsible for navigating their way along each day's course.
Detailed route information, including GPX files and mapping, will be made available before the event.
Competitors should familiarise themselves with the route and carry suitable navigation equipment throughout the challenge.
We strongly recommend having a backup navigation method in case of equipment failure or battery problems.
Every competitor will be issued with a GPS tracking device incorporating an SOS function.
The tracking system allows the event team to monitor competitors' progress throughout each stage.
Family, friends and supporters will also be able to follow the journey through our live tracking facility.
From the first miles in Cornwall to the final approach to John O'Groats, supporters can share in the adventure.
Competitors must carry their tracking device throughout each day's stage and ensure it remains operational.
The SOS function provides an additional means of requesting assistance when required.
GPS tracking is an important safety measure, but it does not replace personal responsibility, appropriate equipment or sensible decision-making.
In an emergency, competitors should contact the emergency services where necessary and notify the event team as soon as possible.
Seventeen consecutive days of ultra-distance running demand reliable equipment and careful planning.
Keep navigation devices charged, carry suitable backup power and be prepared for changing weather conditions, reduced visibility and long hours on your feet.
Know the route. Carry the right kit. Look after yourself.
Every day brings you closer to John O'Groats.
Stay on course. Stay safe. Keep moving forward.

The Mount to Coast LEJOG 2030 is an exceptionally demanding endurance challenge, requiring competitors to cover approximately 50 miles every day for 17 consecutive days.
Success depends not simply on running ability, but on maintaining a consistent pace, managing fatigue and recovering sufficiently to start again the following morning.
Competitors must maintain a minimum average pace of 4 mph (15 minutes per mile) throughout each day's stage.
This requirement includes time spent at checkpoints, so runners must manage their stops carefully to remain within the permitted times.
At this pace, a 50-mile stage takes approximately 12 hours and 30 minutes.
Each stage will have a maximum permitted completion time, calculated according to its distance and the minimum pace requirement.
Individual checkpoint and stage cut-off times will be provided in the detailed route information.
Competitors must reach checkpoints and complete each day's stage within the published cut-off times.
The minimum pace requirement is necessary for competitor safety, event logistics and the effective operation of the support team.
Competitors who fall below the required standard may be withdrawn from the event.
Decisions concerning withdrawal will take account of safety, the competitor's condition and the operational requirements of the event.
If a competitor fails to complete any individual day, at any stage of the race, they will be deemed from immediate effect to be out the race, and will be transferred at the discretion of URL to the nearest train station or other agreed terminus.
Running 50 miles in a day is an achievement.
Running approximately 50 miles every day for 17 consecutive days is something altogether different.
Recovery time becomes precious. Nutrition becomes essential. Every hour of sleep matters.
The challenge is not simply to finish today's stage.
It's to be ready to do it all again tomorrow.
Keep moving. Keep recovering. Keep believing.
Running the length of Great Britain is an extraordinary physical challenge, and maintaining energy levels throughout the 17 days is essential.
At Ultra Running Ltd, we understand that successful multi-day ultra running isn't just about covering the miles. It's about eating well, staying hydrated and giving your body the best possible opportunity to recover before the next day's challenge.
That's why catering and checkpoint refreshments are included in your LEJOG 2030 entry.
Throughout each day's stage, competitors will have access to refreshments at our designated checkpoints.
Our usual selection includes:
Checkpoint provisions are intended to supplement competitors' own nutrition strategies.
With approximately 50 miles to cover each day, starting properly fuelled and replenishing energy afterwards are vital.
Breakfast and evening meals are included as part of the event's catering arrangements, helping competitors prepare for the day's running and recover afterwards. Evening meals are included, but drinks, starters and desserts are payable personally by each competitor.
A standard breakfast selection is provided in your room, including such items as porridge pot, banana, juice drink, milk drink, nutrition bar etc. Then, where possible, a hot breakfast bap at CP1, normally GREGGS, but other suppliers are sometimes used.
Every ultra runner has different nutritional requirements.
Competitors should bring their preferred energy gels, electrolyte products, specialist foods and any other nutrition they regularly use during endurance events.
We strongly recommend testing your nutrition strategy during training rather than experimenting during LEJOG.
In keeping with our commitment to reducing unnecessary waste, LEJOG is a cup-free event.
Competitors must carry their own reusable drinking cup or suitable hydration equipment for use at checkpoints.
During LEJOG, nutrition isn't simply about getting through the next few miles.
It's about giving yourself the best chance of reaching John O'Groats.
17 days. 854 miles. Thousands of calories. One extraordinary challenge.
MTC LEJOG Maps and gpx files:
URL are continually adapting the route and it is a work in progress that has, and continues to, cost us a not insignificant amount of money and time.
It is for this reason that we only provide mapping and gpx information to our own competitors. This information is emailed directly to competitors four weeks before the event.

Running the length of Great Britain over 17 consecutive days is an extraordinary challenge. With approximately 50 miles to cover each day, rest, recovery and a good night's sleep are absolutely essential.
That's why accommodation is included as part of your Mount to Coast LEJOG 2030 entry.
After a long day on your feet, there's nothing quite like a hot shower, a comfortable bed and the opportunity to recharge before doing it all again the following morning.
Hotel accommodation is provided for 16 nights, covering the overnight stays between Days 1 and 17.
We use established hotels along the route, with accommodation arranged to suit the daily stages and minimise unnecessary travelling.
Our aim is simple: to make your evenings as comfortable and straightforward as possible, allowing you to concentrate on recovery rather than logistics.
The standard entry fee includes shared accommodation, with competitors normally allocated three to a room.
Sharing accommodation helps us keep the overall cost of this fully supported 17-day challenge as affordable as possible.
We ask all competitors to be considerate of their room-mates, particularly regarding noise, lighting, early starts and sleeping arrangements.
After running 50 miles, everyone deserves the best possible opportunity to rest!
We appreciate that some competitors prefer their own space, particularly during such a demanding multi-day event.
Single-room accommodation may be available for an additional supplement, subject to hotel availability.
Please contact Ultra Running Ltd in advance if you would like to enquire about a private room.
Our support team will organise the overnight accommodation and transport competitors' main luggage between locations.
Where practical, your belongings will be delivered directly to the hotel, leaving you free to concentrate on the essentials:
Accommodation on the night before the race begins at Land's End, and following the finish at John O'Groats, is not included in the standard entry fee.
Competitors are responsible for arranging these additional nights if required.
During LEJOG, every hour of rest becomes valuable.
The better you recover today, the better prepared you'll be for tomorrow's miles.
17 days. 854 miles. 16 nights to recharge.
Taking on the Mount to Coast LEJOG 2030 means preparing for 17 consecutive days of ultra-distance running.
Naturally, you'll need plenty of clothing, footwear, personal supplies and nutrition to see you through this extraordinary challenge.
The good news? You won't have to carry everything yourself!
Our dedicated support team will transport your main luggage between overnight accommodation locations, allowing you to concentrate on running and recovering.
Where practical, our support crew will transport your bags directly from the support vehicles to your overnight accommodation.
Our aim is to have your belongings waiting for you when you finish each day's running.
However, oversized or excessively heavy bags can make this unnecessarily difficult, particularly when transporting luggage for several competitors over 17 days. Please do not exceed 20kg per bag.
That's why we strongly recommend a simple, organised packing system.
Rather than packing everything into one enormous suitcase, we recommend dividing your belongings into at least two manageable bags.
BAG 1 – DAYS 1–8
Pack the clothing, nutrition and personal supplies you'll need during the first eight days.
BAG 2 – DAYS 9–17
Pack the items you'll need for the remaining nine days.
Clearly label both bags with your name and the relevant day numbers.
Our support team can then keep the bag you don't currently need in the support vehicle, reducing clutter in your room and making your daily routine considerably easier.
If you prefer, you can divide your belongings into three smaller bags:
The principle remains the same: only the luggage needed for the current stage of the event needs to be brought into your accommodation.
At the pre-race induction, competitors will also receive their personalised Mount to Coast LEJOG clothing, including:
Please allow sufficient room in your luggage for these additional items.
After running approximately 50 miles, the last thing you'll want to do is spend precious recovery time searching through an enormous bag for clean clothing or essential supplies.
A well-organised luggage system helps you:
Over 17 consecutive days, those saved minutes can make a real difference.
Please ensure all bags are clearly labelled, manageable in size and packed with consideration for the event support team and fellow competitors.
Important - we also provide an electric clothes horse so if you get wet, or need to wash anything, by the morning it will be nice and dry.
17 days. 854 miles. Thousands of footsteps.
Fully paid MTC LEJOG entrants will benefit from:
