MTC ENBARR
13th May 2027

Thursday 13th May 2027 | Ballyvaughan to Galway | 36 Miles
Welcome to the Mount to Coast Enbarr, Day 7 of our extraordinary 14-day MizMal® adventure across Ireland.
Inspired by Enbarr, the magnificent magical horse of Irish mythology, this 36-mile ultramarathon takes competitors from the picturesque village of Ballyvaughan, on the edge of the Burren, towards the vibrant city of Galway.
According to Irish legend, Enbarr possessed the remarkable ability to gallop effortlessly across both land and sea, carrying its rider wherever adventure called.
You won’t need to run across the Atlantic, but you’ll certainly need determination, stamina and a little of Enbarr’s legendary spirit!
Whether you’re tackling all 14 days of MizMal® or joining us for this standalone ultra, expect another unforgettable chapter in Ireland’s ultimate running adventure.
36 MILES. ONE MAGICAL HORSE. ONE LEGENDARY JOURNEY.

Deep within the ancient mythology of Ireland lies the legend of Enbarr, a magnificent supernatural horse whose extraordinary abilities made it unlike any other creature.
Enbarr, sometimes known as Aonbharr, was associated with Manannán mac Lir, the powerful Irish sea god, and was said to possess a truly remarkable gift.
Neither land nor water could slow this legendary horse!
Where ordinary horses were confined to solid ground, Enbarr could gallop effortlessly across the surface of the sea, carrying its rider over waves as though they were rolling green fields.
Imagine a magnificent horse racing across the Atlantic, its hooves barely touching the water, with the wind whipping through its mane and the wild Irish coastline stretching towards the horizon.
A creature of freedom, power and seemingly limitless endurance.
On Thursday 13th May 2027, our own adventure begins in Ballyvaughan, on the edge of the magnificent Burren, before heading towards the lively city of Galway.
The 36-mile MTC Enbarr may not require you to gallop across the ocean, but it will certainly test your endurance, determination and willingness to keep moving forward.
And what better inspiration for an ultra runner than a legendary horse for whom no obstacle was too great?
Whether this is your seventh consecutive day of MizMal® or your own standalone 36-mile adventure, the spirit of Enbarr is ready to accompany you.
36 MILES. ONE MYTHICAL HORSE. NO LIMITS TO YOUR ADVENTURE.
