Trent Valley Way Ultra Race Rules
The Trent Valley Way Ultra can be entered as an Individual or a Team of 3 or more, or as Relay team of 3 or more.
The length of the course is very challenging and for competitors own safety and fairness the following rules must be adhered to. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from this and future events.
Relay Teams of minimum 3 or more can enter; with only one team member running one leg at a time and handing over to their designated team member for the next leg. The rest of their team can offer support or take time out. Once the race commences, the teams cannot be amended.
Competitors intending to complete the entire section of the course on their own, either the (Black Route), (Red Route) or the (Blue Route).
Teams of minimum 3 or more can enter, with each team member completing the full course distance. Once the race commences, the teams cannot be amended. At least 3 team members must finish.
The Trent Valley Way Ultra is organised by Ultra Running Limited and is open to runners, and relay teams of 3 or more. All entrants must be 18 years of age or over at the start of the race. Each competitor must ensure that they carry with them all of their individual requirements needed to complete the race.
Every entrant must confirm that they have read these rules and other event information and therefore understand the nature of the event and that participation is at their own risk.
Competitors must register at the start location at least one hour before the start of the race and present their kit for examination on request. Race start is 8.00am.
Each participant will be given a race number which must be clearly attached by safety pins to the front chest. If this is not clearly visible you may be delayed at checkpoints.
Teams must have pre-registered before the day and consist of at least three competitors who will also count as individual competitors amongst the rankings. For a Team to successfully complete the race, all sections of the course must have been completed during race time by at least three members of the Team. Relay Teams consist of entrants just running sections of the course and handing over to their respective team member at designated check-points.
Competitors must be self-sufficient, and carry the following mandatory items:
a. Backpack or equivalent
b. Head Torch with spare batteries
c. OS Map for their route
d. Compass or GPS device

Competitors must go through all check points and it is their sole responsibility to ensure that the check point attendant has recorded their race number; failure to do so at any check point will mean the competitor has failed to complete the race and will be disqualified.
If any competitor has to retire for whatever reason they must contact the race organisers immediately, either by advising a checkpoint attendant or telephoning the emergency number given at the start of the race. The emergency number will also be texted to each competitor before race day.
The Trent Valley Way Ultra is incredibly demanding and few athletes will have the fitness or resolve to complete the course. As such Ultra Running will pre-set cut-off times along the route, purely for Health & Safety purposes. In addition, if Ultra Running or any of its representatives deem for any reason that a competitor should not continue, Ultra Running Limited’s decision will be final.
CP1 will close at 10.15am

CP3 will close at 4.30pm
CP4 will close at 7.00pm
