The Trent Valley Way Ultra is also Stage 7 for competitors in Relentless.
Competitors of Relentless and the Trent Valley Way Ultra (Black Route) must arrive at Elder House Touring Park, near Hatfield Chase, for registration and equipment checks, between 6.00am and 7.30am on Thursday 3rd October 2013. Race start will be 8.00am following a race brief. Competitors for the (Red Route) and (Blue Route) must arrive at their respective start locations and their race start time will be as the lead runner comes through. Team Relay runners (Green Route) will depart from their CP Stations as their preceeding team member arrives.

At Camp 7, a hot meal will be available up to 11.00pm after which pot noodle type food will be supplied with unlimited free water and hot drinks. Medical assistance will be available at each camp-site to assist with care of feet and advise on individual fitness levels for those who intend proceeding with the Relentless challenge.
Free camping facilities are included for Relentless competitors continuing the next day. Camping facilities can be provided for The Trent Valley Way Ultra competitors by prior arrangement at an additional cost of £20.00 per person.

Trent Valley Way Ultra Race Rules
The Trent Valley Way Ultra can be entered as an Individual or a Team of 3 or more, or as Relay team of 3 or more.
The length of the course is very challenging and for competitors own safety and fairness the following rules must be adhered to. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from this and future events.
Relay Teams:
Relay Teams of minimum 3 or more can enter; with only one team member running one leg at a time and handing over to their designated team member for the next leg. The rest of their team can offer support or take time out. Once the race commences, the teams cannot be amended.
Individual Entrants:
Competitors intending to complete the entire section of the course on their own, either the (Black Route), (Red Route) or the (Blue Route).
Teams:
Teams of minimum 3 or more can enter, with each team member completing the full course distance. Once the race commences, the teams cannot be amended. At least 3 team members must finish.
The Event
The Trent Valley Way Ultra is organised by Ultra Running Limited and is open to runners, and relay teams of 3 or more. All entrants must be 18 years of age or over at the start of the race. Each competitor must ensure that they carry with them all of their individual requirements needed to complete the race.
Every entrant must confirm that they have read these rules and other event information and therefore understand the nature of the event and that participation is at their own risk.
Race Entries
Competitors must register at the start location at least one hour before the start of the race and present their kit for examination on request. Race start is 8.00am.
Each participant will be given a race number which must be clearly attached by safety pins to the front chest. If this is not clearly visible you may be delayed at checkpoints.
Teams must have pre-registered before the day and consist of at least three competitors who will also count as individual competitors amongst the rankings. For a Team to successfully complete the race, all sections of the course must have been completed during race time by at least three members of the Team. Relay Teams consist of entrants just running sections of the course and handing over to their respective team member at designated check-points.
Competitors must be self-sufficient, and carry the following mandatory items:
a. Backpack or equivalent
b. Head Torch with spare batteries
c. OS Map for their route
d. Compass or GPS device
e. Whistle
f. Mobile phone
g. Emergency food pack consisting of two chocolate bars, Mars or similar
h. First Aid Kit
Checkpoints and Water Stations
The Trent Valley Way Ultra benefits from five check point stations. Each CP provides water and some nutritional nibbles. In addition our sponsors GU Energy provide free GU energy Bars and 9Bar provide free energy 9Bars at all CP stations.
Typical Check Point Station will have the following or similar:
1. Water, cola
2.Energy drinks and bars
3. Jam & peanut butter sandwiches
4. Malt Loaf & Cakes
5. Jelly beans and other similar foodstuffs
6. Some will have the option of a hot pot noodle, coffee or tea.
(If you have special dietary requirements outside the general list above you need to provide it yourself)
Competitors must go through all check points and it is their sole responsibility to ensure that the check point attendant has recorded their race number; failure to do so at any check point will mean the competitor has failed to complete the race and will be disqualified.
Any competitor found to not follow the pre-determined race route will be disqualified.
Competitor Retirement
If any competitor has to retire for whatever reason they must contact the race organisers immediately, either by advising a checkpoint attendant or telephoning the emergency number given at the start of the race. The emergency number will also be texted to each competitor before race day.
Time Restraints
The Trent Valley Way Ultra is incredibly demanding and few athletes will have the fitness or resolve to complete the course. As such Ultra Running will pre-set cut-off times along the route, purely for Health & Safety purposes. In addition, if Ultra Running or any of its representatives deem for any reason that a competitor should not continue, Ultra Running Limited’s decision will be final.
CUT-OFF TIMES:
CP1 will close at 10.15am
CP2 will close at 1.00pm
CP3 will close at 4.30pm
CP4 will close at 7.00pm
Accommodation
Camping facilities are available, at an additional cost of £20.00 per person. Ultra Running will also provide a hot meal for competitors at the finish. It is requested that all of these facilities and the Trent Valley Way Ultra route itself, are respected and kept litter free by all competitors, family, friends or anybody else with an association with the race.
The organisers are more than happy to source alternative accommodation such as B&B or hotel, subject to availability and cost at any of the camp locations for any family member or supporter who wishes to attend the event.

Cancellation
In the event of cancellation of the race, Ultra Running Ltd. undertakes to refund payments received, less any out of pocket expenses which are determined at 25%. Cancellations within four weeks of the event will not receive a refund but at the discretion of the organisers may be transferred to the following year’s race.
Photo coverage
Ultra Running Ltd. reserves all exclusive rights for photo coverage of its events. Participants agree that Ultra Running Limited may use exclusively their individual or collective names and pictures for anything related directly or indirectly to their participation in this event.
Finisher Medals & Trophies
All finishers will receive a bespoke medal and a T-Shirt.
